Xiaomi has launched the Mi 11, described as its “first premium phone in the new decade”, in Mainland China. Pre-orders began at 10pm GMT+8 on December 28.
The Mi 11 is the first device to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, which was unveiled in early December. The processor promises a 35% CPU performance increase and 20% more power efficiency. Meanwhile, the Adreno 660 GPU promises up to 35% faster graphics rendering, and together with the 6th gen Qualcomm AI engine’s Hexagon 780 processor offers 26 TOPS.
The phone has a 6.81” 2K AMOLED display with a WQHD+ 3200×1440 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has up to 1,500 nits of brightness and a 480Hz touch sampling rate as well, along with a JNCD 0.38 ultra-high quasi-primary color screen. The screen is protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
For cameras, the Mi 11 has a 108MP 8K main camera with a 1/1.33” large image sensor with OIS support. It also has pixel-binning, which offers 4-in-1 1.6μm large pixels. The other rear cameras are a 123° ultra-wide angle camera and a 50mm telephoto macro lens respectively. The front has a 20MP in-display selfie camera. The phone also has video filters designed by American visual effects company Digital Domain’s Chief Colorist as well as built-in video editing software.
Aside from that, the phone has a 4,600 mAh battery with a 8.06mm body and has Mi TurboCharge 55W wired flash charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging support. No in-box charger will be included with the standard version, although the bundle version has a separate 55W GaN charger for the same price. For audio, it has dual speakers and sound by Harman Kardon, while for other functions it has Bluetooth sharing, IR blaster, dual-frequency GPS, and multi-functional NFC. The Mi 11 will also have the MIUI 12.5.
The Mi 11 will be available in Midnight Gray, Horizon Blue, and Frost White with anti-glare frosted glass (8.06mm and 196g), and Lilac Purple and Honey Beige with vegan leather (8.56mm and 194g). The three variants are 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB, with prices of RMB3,999 (~RM2,470), RMB4,299 (~RM2,659) and RMB4,699 (~RM2,902) respectively.
