Alongside the launch of the Mi Mix 4, Xiaomi officially reveals the Mi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro.
Both Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro feature the same 11-inch display of 2560×1600 resolution with 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The 10-bit panels support Dolby Vision and HDR10 as well as up to 500 nits of brightness. Xiaomi uses the TrueTone technology in both tablets for adapting the colours and brightness to ambient light.
For the chipsets, the Mi Pad 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor while the Mi Pad 5 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. Xiaomi offers only Wi-Fi connectivity for the Mi Pad 5 whereas the Mi Pad 5 Pro comes with two variants for connectivity: Wi-Fi and 5G.
For the cameras, the Mi Pad 5 has a single 13 MP shooter. As for the Mi Pad 5 Pro, it features an additional 5 MP wide-angle shooter while the 5G model upgrades the main camera to 50 MP while retaining the 5 MP wide-angle shooter.
Underneath the hood, the Mi Pad 5 has an 8720 mAh battery which supports 33 W charging. The Mi Pad 5 Pro, however, has a smaller 8600 mAh battery but supports faster charging at 67 W.
The Xiaomi stylus pen weighs just 12.2 g with a 120 Hz touch sampling rate. Coming with two buttons on its side, the pen can last for 8 hours with a single charge.
The Mi Pad 5 is priced at 1,999 Yuan (~RM1,307) for 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. For its counterpart offering 256 GB of storage, Xiaomi offers it at 2,299 Yuan (~RM1,503). On the other hand, the Mi Pad 5 Pro comes at 2,499 Yuan (~RM1,634) for the 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage variant, and 2,799 Yuan (~RM1,830) for the 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage variant. Finally, the Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at 3,499 Yuan (~RM2,288).
