Twitter has rolled out a new paid feature Super Follows for creators on its platform, allowing them to charge followers a monthly fee for exclusive content.
With the new feature, creators can charge followers with monthly rates of US$2.99 (~RM12), US$4.99 (~RM20), and US$9.99 (~RM41) in order to access "subscriber-only" tweets. This means that if you're not a paid follower, you won't be able to see the creator's exclusive content, but you'll still be able to see their public content on your timeline.
To be eligible, creators must have 10k or more followers, be at least 18 years old, have tweeted 25 times within the last 30 days, and since Twitter is trying the feature in the US only, these creators must be in the US too. To subscribe to a creator, you only need to tap the Super Follow button on their profile and subscribe via in-app payment depending on the pricing plan you choose.
Twitter also reveals that it will eventually incorporate features like Spaces and newsletters.
