After launching its Dimensity 9000 chipset, MediaTek teased an upcoming mid-ranged chip that will cost cheaper, the Dimensity 8000.
According to Digital Chat Station, the chip will be fabbed on a 5nm process. It will reportedly comprise four Cortex A78 cores (2.75GHz) and four Cortex A55 cores (2.0GHz), paired with a new Mali G510 MC6 GPU. The tipster also added that the chipset will support FHD+ displays with up to 168Hz refresh rate or QHD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could also support LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and up to 75W fast charging.
Before these chips will become official, the Dimensity 9000 chipset will be used in the Oppo Find X4 and Redmi K50, the company confirmed.
