LG Partners with Xbox, Promotes OLED TVs for Xbox Series X Gaming

LG is promoting its 2020 OLED TVs as the ideal screens of choice when gaming with the Xbox Series X, as part of a marketing partnership with Xbox. The partnership covers regions like Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, and certain retail locations will have events to promote this LG-Xbox combination.

“The combination of LG’s most advanced TV and Xbox’s most powerful console ever allow both casual and serious gamers alike to enjoy next-generation gaming today.” said LG in a press release. “With features such as an ultra-fast 1ms response time with low input lag and support for the latest HDMI specifications including Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and enhanced return audio channel (eARC), games not only look and sound better, they’re more responsive. With four ports ready to support these features, LG’s OLED TVs offer all the advantages of simultaneous connections for multiple gear set-up from consoles to PCs.”

According to LG, its 2020 OLED TVs are the first to have support for the HGiG profile. HGiG, or HDR Gaming Interest Group, is a volunteer group of companies that seek to provide HDR gaming guidelines, and LG is one of its founding members. Other touted features include TÜV Rhineland-certified Eye Comfort Display, lack of flickering, low blue light emission, and being the first TV with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support.

In a statement provided in the release, LG’s TV product planning division head S.P. Baik said, “We take the needs of gamers very seriously when developing our OLED TVs so to be able to be an official partner to Xbox Series X is a partnership that is very meaningful to us. We’re confident that the heightened visual quality from combining LG OLED TV and Xbox Series X will blow gamers away.”
