Global No.1 wearable brand with Diabetes Risk Study, AI-Powered Sports and 21-Day battery life

Huawei continues to strengthen its position in the global wearables market. According to the IDC Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker cited by Huawei, the company ranked first worldwide in wrist-worn device shipments during the first half of 2026, securing more than 20% of the global market.
Smartwatches have evolved far beyond simply counting steps or displaying notifications. For users today, a wearable has to fit into everyday life, look good enough to wear anywhere, provide meaningful health insights and still keep up when it is time to train or head outdoors.
That is exactly where the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series aims to stand out.
Inspired by the “Gran Turismo” spirit of performance and exploration, Huawei’s latest GT smartwatch generation brings together a more premium design, proactive health intelligence, advanced outdoor and professional sports tracking, personalised AI-powered workout insights and battery life of up to 21 days.

Premium Enough for Everyday Wear, Tough Enough for the Outdoors
One of the defining characteristics of the WATCH GT series has always been its ability to balance smartwatch functionality with the appearance of a conventional premium timepiece.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series continues that approach while introducing a more adventure-inspired design.
For those opting for the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro, Huawei uses an aerospace-grade titanium alloy case together with a nano-tech ceramic bezel and sapphire glass. Its octagonal bezel gives the watch a noticeably sportier personality without losing the refined look expected from a flagship wearable.
Across the series, Huawei is also introducing its EasyCross Strap, featuring a tuck-under design intended to create a cleaner appearance while making the watch faster to put on and more secure during daily activities or workouts.
Durability receives attention too, with the series featuring a super-hard metal coating alongside IP69 dust resistance and 5 ATM water resistance.
Outdoor visibility should also be much less of a concern thanks to the AMOLED display, which can reach up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, making information easier to see even under strong sunlight.
Huawei is offering a wide range of colour options as well. The WATCH GT 7 Pro comes in Yellow, Green and Black fluoroelastomer options, while the GT 7 46 mm offers Yellow, Blue and Black. The smaller 41 mm model gets Blue and Pink fluoroelastomer straps alongside White and Grey composite leather variants.
Moving From Health Tracking to Proactive Health Intelligence
Perhaps the more interesting evolution comes from how the WATCH GT 7 Series approaches health monitoring.
Instead of simply presenting users with individual readings, Huawei is positioning the new generation around helping users better understand what those readings mean.
One of its headline additions is the Huawei-exclusive Diabetes Risk Study, which uses PPG-based vascular signal analysis to assess potential diabetes risk without needles. Pulse wave signals are analysed alongside factors such as age, gender, height and weight, with users receiving an assessment after approximately three to 14 days of continuous wear.
Importantly, Huawei states that this is a study initiated by Universiti Malaya and is not a medical feature, so it should be treated as an awareness tool rather than a medical diagnosis.
Cardiovascular monitoring is also expanded.
The WATCH GT 7 Series supports CE and MDA-certified Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis, while the WATCH GT 7 Pro adds CE and MDA-certified ECG monitoring for additional heart rhythm insights.
The Pro model also includes an Arterial Stiffness Assessment, designed to help users understand vascular stiffness and potential signs of vascular ageing.

A Daily Physical Readiness Score
Another noteworthy addition is Huawei’s new Physical Readiness Score.
Instead of requiring users to interpret a collection of separate health measurements, the feature analyses factors including heart rate variability, recovery, sleep, physical activity, emotional wellbeing and other physiological signals before presenting a simplified assessment of the user's daily condition.
In practice, that could make smartwatch data easier to act on.
On a day where recovery is poor, for example, users may decide to reduce workout intensity rather than blindly following the same routine.
The wider health ecosystem also includes Emotional Wellbeing 2.0, HRV monitoring, advanced sleep tracking and women's health features.
Through the Huawei Health app, users can additionally access AI-powered wellness tools such as personalised workout courses, intelligent weight-management plans, AI Sleep Music and guided training programmes.
Huawei's On-wrist Health Community can also allow users to share selected health insights with family members and receive relevant alerts.

More Accurate Tracking for Outdoor Adventures
For runners, cyclists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, location accuracy can become just as important as heart-rate data.
The WATCH GT 7 Series introduces enhanced AI-XDR Positioning, combining GNSS information with onboard sensor data and Huawei's positioning algorithms to improve route tracking in more challenging environments.
Another interesting feature is Smart Route Reconstruction.
When users travel through areas where GPS reception becomes unreliable, such as certain trails or obstructed environments, the watch can intelligently estimate portions of the route to help maintain a more complete activity record.
The technology also extends into skiing, where AI-XDR Positioning can capture trajectories while generating insights covering aspects such as speed, turns and overall performance.
Serious Running and Trail Features
Runners get access to familiar metrics including pace, cadence, heart rate, running ability and training load, alongside structured training plans and running courses within the HUAWEI Health app.
Trail running and hiking receive significantly deeper functionality.
Users can monitor elevation gain, descent, climbing performance and route information, while navigation tools such as Segment Navigation, Route Back, offline maps and GPX route importing can make unfamiliar trails easier to manage.
Workout data can also be synchronised with Strava, which will be particularly useful for users who already track their training and achievements on the platform.

Golf Gets Smarter on the WATCH GT 7 Pro
Golf remains one of the more specialised areas reserved for the WATCH GT 7 Pro.
The new model introduces features such as Plays-like Distance, which accounts for elevation changes when calculating yardage rather than relying only on straight-line distance.
There is also automatic Shot Distance tracking, together with features including Custom Green Flagstick positioning, an Auto-Rotating Greens View and a multi-colour 18-hole scorecard.
Rather than replacing golfing experience and judgement, these additions essentially give players more information directly from their wrist while moving around the course.

Skiing, Cycling and Even Freediving
Huawei is expanding beyond conventional smartwatch sports modes as well.
For skiing, the WATCH GT 7 Series introduces what Huawei describes as industry-first Turn Detection, allowing the watch to analyse metrics such as turn count, turn frequency and G-force.
More than 3,000 ski resort maps worldwide are also supported, while automatic ski-run and lift detection helps reduce the need to manually start and stop tracking throughout a session.
Cyclists can import GPX routes and use Intelligent Climbing Planning to view information such as elevation, gradient and climbing progress in real time.
Additional functions including Sharp Turn Alerts and Lactate Threshold Analysis are intended to help riders better manage navigation and training intensity.
Meanwhile, the WATCH GT 7 Pro supports freediving to depths of up to 40 metres, with features including a hover timer and water-type identification. Huawei states that the Pro model carries EN13319 certification for underwater activities.
AI Workout Analysis Turns Data Into Guidance
Collecting large quantities of fitness data is useful, but it becomes considerably more valuable when users can understand what to do with it.
That is the idea behind AI Workout Analysis on the WATCH GT 7 Series.
The system analyses factors including workout performance, training load, heart rate, recovery status and historical activity to generate personalised recommendations.
Rather than simply telling users how far they ran or what their heart rate was, Huawei wants the watch to provide guidance around training intensity, recovery and progression.
In other words, the smartwatch increasingly behaves less like a passive tracker and more like a digital training companion.
Racket Sports Without Extra Sensors
Racket sports receive a surprisingly comprehensive upgrade too.
Through dedicated applications such as Tennix, PickleX and Goodshot, users playing tennis, pickleball or badminton can analyse information including smash speed, clear speed, swing frequency and longest rally without requiring an additional tracking device or subscription.
Padel players can meanwhile use the Padel Point application for wrist-based score tracking.
For users who regularly rotate between gym sessions, running and recreational sports, having these specialised modes built into a single wearable could make the WATCH GT 7 considerably more useful than a basic activity tracker.
Up to 21 Days of Battery Life
All of those features would be much less appealing if users constantly had to recharge the watch.
Fortunately, long battery life remains one of the defining strengths of the GT family.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro and WATCH GT 7 46 mm can deliver up to 21 days of battery life, while the smaller WATCH GT 7 41 mm can reach up to 14 days.
Huawei attributes the improvement to a next-generation high-silicon stacked battery that improves energy efficiency while allowing the watch to maintain a slimmer and lighter form.
For endurance activities, Huawei states that the series can provide up to 44 hours of cycling tracking and 51 hours in trail-running mode.
That kind of endurance can make a meaningful difference during travel or multi-day outdoor activities, where carrying another charger is the last thing most users want to think about.
Useful Even When You Are Not Exercising
The WATCH GT 7 Series is not exclusively focused on fitness.
Huawei is also bringing several practical everyday functions to the wearable, including Touch 'n Go QR Payment support, allowing compatible payments to be made directly from the wrist.
The watch works with both Android and iOS devices, keeping the experience open to users outside Huawei's own smartphone ecosystem.
There is also NFC Access Card support for compatible offices, residential buildings and facilities, potentially reducing the number of cards users need to reach for throughout the day.
A More Complete Kind of Smartwatch
With the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series, Huawei appears to be focusing less on adding another long list of isolated sensors and more on connecting them into a smarter overall experience.
Health readings feed into readiness and wellness insights. Workout data is interpreted through AI. Positioning technology supports everything from trail running to skiing, while specialised sports features cater to runners, cyclists, golfers, racket-sport players and divers.
At the same time, Huawei has retained two of the GT Series' most recognisable advantages: a watch-like premium design and exceptionally long battery life.
For users looking for a smartwatch that can transition from everyday wear to serious training and outdoor adventures without demanding nightly charging, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series is shaping up to be one of Huawei's most comprehensive wearable offerings yet.
