vivo has unveiled the X500 Series in Malaysia, bringing three new flagship smartphones to its lineup: the vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. With prices starting from RM4,699, the series puts concert photography, subject tracking and cinematic video at the centre of its camera experience.

The launch also introduces OriginOS 7 to Malaysia, alongside larger batteries and new tools for multitasking, personalisation and working across devices. For early buyers, vivo is offering pre-order rewards until 2 November 2026, including selected-model rebates and a lucky draw for Jay Chou concert tickets.

A 200MP telephoto camera leads the lineup

The X500 Pro Max gets the most advanced telephoto setup of the three. Its 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera pairs a 1/1.4-inch HP0 Ultra-Sensing Sensor with an 85mm equivalent focal length. CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilization is designed to reduce motion blur and help with handheld shooting in low light.

For moving subjects, the Pro Max and Pro use vivo’s X-Track Engine with Lock-On Subject Tracking. According to vivo, this can maintain tracking when a subject is briefly obstructed or moves out of view. The Pro Max also supports AF tracking at up to 60fps in Snapshot Mode, plus 30x Long-Range Motion Snapshot. The Pro supports the latter feature at up to 20x.

The X500 Pro has its own 85mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, using a 64MP vivo x Sony LYTIA 610 sensor and ZEISS T* Coating. Meanwhile, the standard X500 combines a 72mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with a 50MP, 1/1.28-inch ZEISS Pro-Level Ultra-Sensing Camera.

Optional telephoto accessories extend the reach further. The Pro Max supports the 400mm equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, while the Pro supports the 200mm equivalent Telephoto Extender Gen 2. Buyers interested in the accessory should check the relevant kit or bundle rather than assume it comes with the standard phone package.

More ways to capture the concert stage

Stage Mode 3.0 brings together features such as Auto Framing Fancam Video, 4K Dual-View Stage Video, 4K Stage All-in-One Recording and Super Telephoto Stage Snapshot. These give concertgoers more ways to record performers, capture their own reactions and frame the action from a distance.

The Pro and Pro Max also support 4K 120fps Pro AF Tracking Video. Their ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera offers Cinematic Pro Log Video, with vivo citing a 17 EV dynamic range and a dedicated Log curve designed to preserve highlight and shadow detail for editing.

Other main-camera video features include 4K Dolby Vision Portrait Video, 4K Cinematic Portrait Video and native 4K 240fps recording. The Pro Max adds 3° Gimbal-Grade OIS to help steady footage when shooting movement.

For users who prefer a look straight from the camera, cinematic colour options include Paris Afterglow, Golden Hour and Pastel. Movie Workshop adds Auto Framing and a one-tap Vortex Shot effect for rotating footage.

OriginOS 7 brings multitasking and cross-device tools

The X500 Series is the first smartphone series in Malaysia to feature OriginOS 7, according to vivo. Origin Workbench supports floating windows and drag-and-drop file transfers between apps, while the Origin Smooth Engine is designed to keep animations and interactions responsive.

vivo also highlights connectivity with Apple devices and services, including AirPods, Apple Watch and iCloud. Quick Share offers AirDrop interoperability, while vivo Office Kit includes tools such as Jovi PC and Camera Sharing for working with Mac computers.

AI features include Snap & Go for recognising information in screenshots and AI Next Up for turning detected schedules into home-screen reminders. AI Recorder offers speaker recognition, transcript tools and smart summaries, with templates for meetings, lectures and interviews.

Personalisation options include Dynamic Translucent Material, animated Wiggle effects and StickIt, which lets users extract subjects from photos and place them on screen.

Batteries up to 7,800mAh

The X500 Pro Max and Pro run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, which vivo says uses TSMC’s 2nm process. The standard X500 uses the Dimensity 9600M.

Battery capacities differ across the lineup: the Pro Max has a 7,800mAh battery, the Pro has 6,510mAh and the X500 has 7,500mAh. All three support 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge, alongside Bypass Charging.

The Pro Max has a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display, while the Pro takes a more compact approach with a 6.36-inch screen. The X500 sits between them at 6.59 inches. Across the series, vivo lists up to 2,000 nits global peak brightness, a 100% P3 colour gamut, IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, USB 3.2 and an infrared blaster.

The X500 comes in Dusk Black, Sunny White and Starry Gray. The Pro and Pro Max are available in Moonlit Black, Starry Gray and Sunset Orange.
