Genshin Impact Version 2.1 Update "Floating World Under the Moonlight" Will Go Live on 1 September

miHoYo has announced Genshin Impact's version 2.1 update "Floating World Under the Moonlight" will be released on 1 September. The new update will see new content and gameplay added to Inazuma, including two islands, three playable characters, and a grand finale to the main story. In celebration of the game's first anniversary, fans will be receiving rewards through seasonal events, including the Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn.

With the upcoming update, the Inazuma storyline will come to an end, and players will be introduced to two new islands - Watatsumi Island and Serai Island - for exploration. Additionally, there will be new bosses like the Hydro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, and Signora.

When the update arrives, players will be able to collect Inazuma characters Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Kujou Sara. Raiden Shogun will join as a 5-star Electro polearm user. Similarly a 5-star character, Sangonomiya Kokomi is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, who has the abilities to heal her teammates. Meanwhile, Kujou Sara, the general of the Tenryou Commission, is a bower who can deal ranged attacks. Lastly, players who have reached Adventure Rank 20 and above, will be able to receive Aloy. However, only Playstation players will receive Aloy during the version 2.1 update whereas players on other platforms will only gain access to her character during the version 2.2 update.

Besides that, there will be the Moonchase Festival taking place in Liyue, where players will join Keqing and Xiangling in cooking and tasting local foods and recipes while exploring the origins of the festival in Liyue Harbor. Players can participate in the Moonseeker Event, hunting treasures across Liyue, Mondstadt, and Dragonspine. Participating players will receive rewards including the new 4-star claymore Luxurious Sea-Lord to max refinement. Additionally, there will also be up to 10 Intertwined Fate in the new daily login event.

Furthermore, players will be able to go fishing when the new update arrives. The fish can be used to produce fish meat, exchange for rewards and new fishing rods from the Fishing Association. After the Serenitea Pot, players can catch Ornamental Fish to be raised in the Pool of Sapphire Grace.
