Following the final beta test of Android 12, it seems the real thing might really come soon. According to XDA editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman, Google plans to release the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) version of Android 12 on 4 October.
As Google tends to release Android updates on the same date as the AOSP, the upcoming Android 12 stable update should be released on the same day. This could also mean that Pixel owners may get the update on that day too.
Additionally, this might also hint at the release date of the upcoming Pixel 6. It's unlikely that Google will debut the new smartphone without Android 12 so we expect that the Pixel 6 will only launch sometime later in October, at least after the Android 12 comes. The update, however, won't be available immediately on other Android phones.
