You Can Play Overwatch for Free Until January 4

Like Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin, and GOG, Battle.net is throwing a winter sale this Holiday season. It’s also throwing in an extra goodie in the form of a free trial period for Overwatch, which will last until January 4, 2021.

The free trial will provide access to the full game, with all 32 heroes, 29 maps, and modes available. If you decide that you want to keep playing, you can get the Standard Edition for US$14.99 (~RM61) or the Legendary Edition for US$19.99 (~RM81) during the sale.

Those who try the Overwatch free trial will also get to experience the ongoing Winter Wonderland 2020 event, which will run until January 5, 2021. The event includes a several special modes like Snowball Deathmatch and Yeti Hunter, weekly challenges with special sprays and skins as rewards, and loot boxes with seasonal items.

While Overwatch 2 is on its way, potentially releasing in 2021, Blizzard has confirmed that players of the first game will be able to play with the sequel’s players. In addition, Overwatch players will also receive the new heroes and maps that come with the sequel, so you won’t have to worry about being left behind.

Overwatch released back in 2016 as Blizzard’s first multiplayer FPS, kicking off a hero shooter trend in the process. While the game had some limited-time co-op content, the sequel will feature non PvP content more prominently via up-to-four player story missions and Hero missions.
