Yoodo has announced the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship Malaysia 2020, a collegiate-level tournament held in partnership with PUBG Mobile.
PMCC Malaysia 2020, which will be fully digital, will see over 1000 college and university students battling over a total prize pool of RM60,000, beginning with a first round of qualifiers from October 31 to November 5. Five qualifiers will be held across five regions including Central (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya), South (Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor), North (Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perlis, Perak), East (Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang), and Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan).
Afterwards, the respective regional finals will run from November 7 to 15, with the top 20 teams heading for the Grand Finals between November 27 and 29. The winning team will get a wildcard entry to the PUBG Mobile National Championship 2021, in addition to RM20,000 for the team along with Yoodo credits worth RM200 and Yoodo merchandise per player.
Aside from the main tournament, the Grand Finals will also have a showmatch where 48 members of the public play with “top-tier influencers, professional players and representatives from the participating universities for an epic showdown”. In addition, there will be a Caster Search that will allow selected fans to commentate during the tournament.
Head of Yoodo Chow Tuck Mun said in a prepared statement, “The inaugural season of PMCC last year received overwhelming response and was a great success in catapulting the winners of the tournament to the professional leagues. We are proud to be bringing PMCC back again, this time bigger and better than before.”
