With Wuthering Waves set to release tomorrow, players around the world are waiting with bated breaths as the clock keeps ticking down to signal the release of the game. However, while waiting for the game to release, here are the information that we have gathered from the game thus far.
Prior to the game's release, Kuro Game, creators of the game, set a pre-registration targets for players to hit before the launch of the game, issuing in-game rewards to players upon hitting it. And one week before the launch of the game, Kuro Game announced on a tweet that a total of 30 million people had already pre-registered for the game, and the tweet was made about a week ago, and there is a high chance that the number has skyrocketed from then.
Wuthering Waves starts off in the world of Solaris-3 where an amnesiac Rover (the player character) who has awaken from their deep slumber only to find that the world is in a post-apocalyptic state after a disastrous event known as The Lament occurred causing anomalies, the Waveworn Phenomenon, to occur. The game's global trailer also hints at the Rover possessing similar skills to a legendary hero of the past, which adds to the mystery of the character.
Join the Rover as he travels through the vast lands of Solaris-3, meeting various characters along the way while also taking on the dangers of the world.
The playable characters that you will be able to play with are referred to as Resonators and similarly to other games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, the characters are divided to a 5-star rarity and a 4-star rarity.
The game's combat system is said to be similar to Genshin Impact as it features skills and an ultimate that each character has. Though it also features another combat mechanics which makes it exceed Genshin such as Parrying, Enemy Stun-Meters and Resonance Circuit systems. Furthermore, the game is also said to feature Echoes, which are items that can be equipped onto your Resonators to make them stronger, similar to Artifacts in Genshin Impact.
Version 1 of the game is set to unveil the first character event banner which is Jiyan, the General of the Midnight Rangers, and the game has revealed his Profile data on their official Twitter account. Following his banner in Version 1 will be Yinlin.
