The smartphone camera wars are getting ridiculous again… and honestly, we’re not complaining.

vivo X300 Ultra has officially launched in Malaysia, bringing some seriously aggressive camera hardware that feels heavily targeted at creators, photographers, videographers, and anyone who constantly says “wait let me shoot this properly.”

Even more interesting? Malaysia is the first global market outside China to officially launch the device.
The biggest selling point here is easily the new ZEISS Master Lenses Collection.
The phone features three prime lenses:
14mm ultra-wide
35mm documentary lens
85mm telephoto lens
This gives users more flexibility depending on whether they’re shooting landscapes, portraits, food shots, travel content, or street photography.
Then things get even crazier.
The 85mm telephoto camera features a massive 200MP sensor, supports 60fps AF tracking, and comes with gimbal-level OIS, which helps keep footage stable when shooting concerts, sports, wildlife, or fast-moving subjects.
For users who somehow still want more zoom, vivo also introduced:
200mm Telephoto Extender Gen 2
400mm Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra
Yes… smartphone brands are now shipping external lenses again, and this one actually feels useful for creators who regularly shoot long-distance subjects.
On the video side, vivo is clearly trying to attract serious creators.
The X300 Ultra supports:
Multi-focal 4K 120fps recording
Quad-mic audio recording
Pro video controls
Dual-view recording
SmallRig Pro Video Rig compatibility

The optional SmallRig kit basically transforms the phone into a mini cinema rig with:
Camera cage
Dual hand grips
Physical shutter controls
Zoom controls
Cooling fan support
And yes… that’s a lot for a smartphone.
vivo is also heavily pushing its new color science upgrades.
The X300 Ultra features:
5MP multispectral sensor
12 color channels
Professional color presets
RAW/SuperRAW support
HDR workflow enhancements
For performance, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with vivo’s Pro Imaging Chip VS1+ for handling computational photography workloads.
Battery life also looks strong with:
6600mAh battery
100W FlashCharge
40W wireless charging
Design-wise, vivo is clearly leaning into traditional camera aesthetics.
The phone features:
Camera-inspired design language
Metal camera module
Knurled texture details
6.82-inch display
Volcano Black & Steppe Green colour options

Honestly?
This feels less like a normal flagship phone launch and more like vivo looking directly at compact cameras and saying:
