In an official post, founder Pavel Durov announced that Telegram will introduce a Premium subscription plan that provides "additional features, speed and resources" later this month.
Durov hinted at some new features that will come with the Premium plan, including the ability to upload larger files as well as Premium stickers and reactions. He assures that existing features will stay free for non-subscribers. They will also be able to view extra-large files and media or interact with stickers and reactions sent by Premium users.
Durov says that the decision to offer a paid subscription is because he believed that Telegram should be "funded primarily by its users, not advertisers".
