TARUC is Planning to Build an Esports Arena at its KL Campus

While this piece of news is certainly pleasant, it's not surprising considering how much esports has integrated itself into our community - especially after the Malaysian government has openly shown support with substantial funding and the release of the National Esports Blueprint.

Tuanku Abdul Rahman University College, commonly abbreviated as 'TARC' or 'TARUC', posted up this announcement earlier today, seeking operators to set up an esports arena within its main campus in KL:

Although we don't have many details on how this esports arena will function, we do know that it will be generously sized at 1,686 square feet, and will charge patrons an hourly fee.

TARUC won't be the first educational institute to embark on such an endeavour though - Taylor's Lakeside Campus has already introduced esports onto its grounds with the Future Games Esports Centre.

Will TARUC's version be a campus cyber cafe of sorts? Or a training location for up-and-coming esports talents? Or perhaps even an event venue for local tournaments and leagues?

Maybe it'll be all of the above - only time will tell.
