Splitgate Development Ends As Developers Move To New Game

Portal first-person-shooter Splitgate is ceasing further development as the developers, 1047 Games, plan to make a new game.
In a statement on the Splitgate Twitter account, it said that they are their attention away from smaller updates to focus on a brand new game set in the same universe.
“It will be a shooter, it will have portals, and it will be built in Unreal Engine 5. Oh, and it will be free,” the statement said.
The developers clarified that Splitgate will remain playable with smaller support updates and fixes. They also announced a new free Battle Pass that will be available on 15 September as a thank you gift.
“This is a see you soon and not a farewell.”
