Sabotage Studio has announced that "Sea of Stars" will be joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members on the game's launch date on August 29, 2023. The game was also confirmed to be on Xbox Game Pass on day one as a part of the ID@Xbox indie program. Aside from that, a demo is now playable for PlayStation 5 & PlayStation 4.
According to a blog post made by the Sea of Stars level designer, Philippe Dionne, "The demo features areas that will be part of the final game, but we made sure to pick a slice that did not reveal any major spoilers from the main story."
Dionne added, "It is designed to give a hint of context but mostly showcases some gameplay systems and mechanics around dungeon crawling and combat. It aims to provide a sense of the tone and vibe without giving away major points of the journey."
Furthermore, Sea of Stars features an exciting traversal design that allows players to explore the map and discover new things by themselves. An example was shown in the blog post where the level's art highlights a "hidden path" for players to discover the ability to swim across the map, leaving more options for them to choose and explore at their own pace.
Sea of Stars will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on August 29, 2023.
