According to a Korean news outlet, Samsung is planning to develop an application processor (AP) exclusively for its Galaxy devices.
Samsung's President TM Roh revealed the plan of making "an AP specifically for the Galaxy", in response to the recent Game Optimization Service (GOS) controversy. While the service should fine-tune the system's performance during gaming and reduce power consumption, it's found to throttle the performance of up to 10000 apps. Despite so, the feature cannot be disabled.
However, TM Roh did not further elaborate as to what the AP will be or its current stage of development.
