Samsung Electronics has unveiled a major update to Samsung Health, bringing a new generation of AI-powered wellness features that will debut on the upcoming Galaxy Watch series. Designed to move beyond passive health tracking, the update transforms Galaxy Watch into a proactive health companion capable of delivering personalized guidance based on users’ daily habits and biometric data.

According to Samsung, the latest Samsung Health experience focuses on making complex health information easier to understand by turning data into actionable recommendations. The update combines AI-driven analysis with Galaxy Watch sensor technology to help users better manage their overall well-being throughout the day.

Smarter Understanding of Your Health

One of the headline additions is the new Vitals feature. Instead of simply displaying health metrics, Samsung Health now analyzes five key overnight bio-signals including heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels.

By comparing these readings against each user's personal baseline, the system can identify meaningful changes and provide timely insights without overwhelming users with unnecessary notifications.

Samsung says the goal is to help users recognize signs of fatigue, illness, or recovery needs before they impact daily life.

Introducing Heart Health Score

Building on last year's Vascular Load feature, Samsung has introduced a new Heart Health Score that combines multiple health indicators into a single, easy-to-understand metric.

The score evaluates factors such as sleep quality, activity levels, stress management, and body composition to provide a clearer picture of long-term cardiovascular wellness.

Rather than requiring users to interpret multiple graphs and data points, Heart Health Score delivers a simplified overview of how lifestyle habits are affecting overall heart health.

Better Training with Daily Cardio Load

For fitness enthusiasts, Samsung is introducing Daily Cardio Load, a feature designed to help users train smarter rather than harder.

The system measures accumulated cardiovascular strain throughout the day and estimates an individual's training capacity. Based on these insights, Samsung Health can recommend optimal workout intensity and recovery periods, helping users avoid overtraining while maximizing performance improvements.

Fitness Index Tracks Progress More Effectively

The new Fitness Index provides users with a clearer view of their physical development by evaluating factors such as heart rate performance, VO2 Max, and daily activity levels.

The feature also compares performance trends against peer benchmarks and delivers personalized goals and recommendations tailored to individual strengths and weaknesses.

This allows users to identify areas that need improvement and maintain consistent fitness progress over time.

A Redesigned Samsung Health Experience

Samsung has also redesigned the Samsung Health interface to make wellness information more accessible.

The app is now organized around five key pillars:

  • Sleep

  • Activity

  • Nutrition

  • Mindfulness

  • Vitals

Users can quickly access their AI-powered Energy Score and personalized wellness tips directly from the home screen, providing a centralized view of overall health at a glance.

Expanded Wellness Features

Beyond the new health metrics, Samsung is further enhancing existing wellness tools.

The Antioxidant Index now includes trend charts and historical tracking, helping users better understand how dietary choices affect their body over time.

Meanwhile, Samsung's AGEs Index has been upgraded to automatically collect overnight measurements, allowing the system to build a more comprehensive long-term view of lifestyle-related health changes.

Samsung is also introducing a brand-new Hearing Health feature that leverages Galaxy Watch to monitor ambient noise exposure. The feature provides personalized insights that can help users protect their hearing whether commuting in busy environments or listening to music during workouts.

Building a Connected Health Ecosystem

Samsung says these new capabilities demonstrate its vision for a fully connected and AI-powered health ecosystem. By integrating Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watches, and Samsung Health into a unified platform, users can gain a more complete understanding of their well-being while receiving proactive recommendations tailored to their lifestyle.

The new Samsung Health experience and health features will first become available on Samsung's upcoming next-generation Galaxy Watch lineup.
