Itching to get your hands on a new RTX 30 series card? Mark February 25 on your calendar then, because that’s when the RTX 3060 is arriving on the market.
As reported by The Verge, NVIDIA announced that retailer orders for the latest RTX 30 series card will kick off on that date at 9AM PT, or February 26 at 1AM in Malaysian time. NVIDIA also told The Verge that there will be no Founder’s Edition version for the RTX 3060.
The RTX 3060 was first unveiled in January, where it was announced that the card would arrive in late February. The card will cost US$329 (~RM1,328), making it the cheapest in the series to date. As with the rest in the family, it has 2nd generation RT cores and 3rd generation tensor cores. It also has 4GB more GDDR6 memory than the RTX 3060 Ti, albeit with a smaller memory interface width.
Below are the RTX 3060's key specs:
While it’s great to see the RTX 3060 get released, it won’t be a surprise if it gets snapped up quickly like its siblings. Plus, with NVIDIA expecting “lean” inventories throughout Q1 (NVIDIA’s fiscal Q1 ends in late April) and going so far as to re-release old cards like the GTX 1050 Ti and RTX 2060 to tackle the shortage, it’s likely that the majority of PC gamers will have to wait till some time after February 25 to get their hands on the RTX 3060.
