ROG Announces ROG Masters APAC 2021

Republic of Gamers has announced a new ROG Masters for this year. This year’s tournament will be called ROG Masters APAC 2021 and will feature Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as its official game.

ROG’s first online esports tournament in the Asia Pacific region, the ROG Masters APAC 2021 will take place from March to April. 15 countries are involved, including Malaysia, Australia, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.

The tournament will be split into the country qualifiers, country finals, and Asia Pacific finals stages. Pro teams will be automatically seeded into their respective country finals, with ROG’s press release saying that this will provide non-professional Malaysian teams a better of chance of making it through qualifiers and engaging pro teams in the country finals.

Malaysia’s country qualifiers are set to begin in the first week of April, while the country finals will be livestreamed on April 4 on ASUS ROG Malaysia’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The Asia Pacific finals will be livestreamed on the fourth week of April. “Star teams” and shoutcasters that will represent Malaysia will be announced on March 14.

The Malaysia finals’ winning teams will get US$800 (~RM3,234) and US$400 (~RM1,617) for first and second place respectively, along with ROG prizes. Meanwhile, the Asia Pacific finals will feature prizes of US$10,000 (~RM40,425), US$3,500 (~RM14,149), and US$1,500 (~RM6,064) for first, second, and third place respectively.

Registration will begin on February 8 and end on February 28. If you’re feeling up for it, you can head over to the tournament’s official website.
