Firstly, there will be a new 2v2 mode in the tournaments which lets players team up with a friend in a competitive play. Developer Psyonix will also add Extra Mode tournaments that will be scheduled between modes like Rumble (featuring randomised power-ups), Hoops (a basketball-style mode), and Snow Day (where the ball is replaced by a hockey puck). Psyonix mentioned that it "will be adding between eight and 13 additional tournaments a week in every region".
The fourth season will include a new setting that allows players to turn off copyrighted music in the game in case they don't want to get a DMCA strike. When the setting is enabled, the copyrighted music will either be muted or replaced by music that is free to use.
The new cowboy-themed car will be released as part of the season four Rocket Pass.
