Xiaomi has announced the arrival of the Redmi 9T in Malaysia. The phone will be available from January 15 from RM599.
The Redmi 9T comes with a four-camera setup at the rear, with a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. Camera-related features include new movie frame and time-lapse features. The front has an 8MP selfie camera.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and offers a 6.53” FHD+ Dot Drop display. The phone also has Widevine L1 and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certifications. The rear of the phone has an anti-fingerprint textured back. Inside, the Redmi 9T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 and has a sizeable 6,000mAh battery. Reverse wired charging and 18W fast charging are supported, and a 22.5W charger is included in the box.
The phone is available in Carbon Gray, Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, and Ocean Green, with 4GB+64GB (UFS2.1) and 6GB+128GB (UFS2.2) versions. The phone also has expandable storage of up to 512GB. The 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB versions are priced at RM599 and RM699 respectively.
In addition to the Redmi 9T, Xiaomi announced the launch of the Mi 65W Fast Charger with GaN tech and Mi Smart Speaker. The Mi 65W Fast Charger was made available on January 9 at a price of RM119. The Mi Smart Speaker was also made available for purchase on January 9 and features a front-facing speaker with a 63.5mm sound driver and DTS Customized Sound support. It also has a touch panel and a LED ring on the top, with the ring “pulsing in different color combinations” when tasks are carried out with Google Assistant. The Mi Smart Speaker has a retail price of RM209.
