Today, realme officially launched the realme 9 Pro 5G series in Malaysia with a retail price starting from RM1,199. On 8 March, it will be available for purchase at a special launch price, starting from RM1,099.
With the launch of the series, realme debuts its first photochromic design, inspired by the illuminating change of color captured during sunrise. The device will be available in two color options, Sunrise Blue and Aurora Green. Available on the Sunshine Blue variant is a light shift design, which allows the phone's back cover to completely change from blue to red when exposed to sunlight or UV light, and back to blue again within 2 - 5 minutes when removed from the lighting conditions.
The series consists of the realme 9 Pro+ 5G with a 6.4" 90Hz AMOLED display and the realme 9 Pro 5G with a 6.6" 120Hz display. The latter has a 6-level adaptive refresh rate, which can automatically adjust the screen's refresh rate based on the following activities:
Static - 30Hz
Movie - 48Hz
TV Play - 50Hz
Game - 60Hz or 90Hz
Feeds - 120Hz
First within the mid-tier price category, the realme 9 Pro+ 5G features a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and electrical image stabilizer (EIS). The rear camera unit also includes an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. It supports a ProLight Tech feature which allows for crispier and more detailed photos in low-light conditions. Other photography features include Street Photography Mode, Smart Long Exposure, 90s Pop Filter, as well as Peak & Zoom.
The 9 Pro+ model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G processor clocking at 2.5GHz along with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It has a built-in vapor chamber cooling system to reduce temperature while maintaining performance. Additionally, the 9 Pro+ provides an in-display fingerprint sensor heart rate monitor for daily heart health tracking. On the other hand, the vanilla 9 Pro model comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset.
On 8 March, the realme 9 Pro 5G series will be available at a special promotional price on Lazada. Another realme 9 Pro 5G (6+128GB) variant will be on sale on Lazada on 15 march. On top of that, the series will be offered with special deals from 12 - 13 March from 1pm onwards in conjunction with the opening of realme's latest authorized store, the MTS Mobile Store on Level 2 (Old Wing) in 1 Utama Shopping Center, Petaling Jaya.
