ree

The journey to Ragnarok Festa 2025 was more than just a large event to celebrate the Ragnarok franchise, it was also a statement of intent for the future of the franchise and for future events. Across the two days in Bangkok, Thailand, Gravity showcased their vision, legacy as well as a glimpse into the future of their plans and of the Ragnarok universe while also wanting to celebrate the immense growth of the series which spanned across two decades.

ree

Kick starting the events would be a day prior to the Ragnarok Festa 2025, where GRAVITY hosted their Global Playground Gravity Visionary 2026 press conference where they showcased their plans and the future games from the Ragnarok franchise that will be releasing in 2026.

Setting the Stage: Global Playground Gravity Visionary 2026

ree

Gravity Game Tech’s Global Playground Gravity Visionary 2026 press conference took place at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park hotel where media partners and KOL gathered in anticipation of the press conference that will be taking place there. This major reveal marked a significant milestone as Gravity reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the Ragnarok universe across mobile, PC, and console platforms, while appealing to both long-time fans and a new generation of players.

The press conference was started by Yoshinori Kitamura, the Chairman and COO of Gravity, who highlighted the company’s global growth and shared Gravity’s mission: to create the most exciting gaming experiences possible for players around the world. Since the launch of Ragnarok Online in 2002, the franchise has grown into a global phenomenon, surpassing 200 million downloads worldwide and steadily expanding into new markets.

ree

At the heart of the press conference would be the announcement of the four new titles that will be released in 2026, Ragnarok Abyss, Ragnarok Midgard Senki, Ragnarok The New World, and Ragnarok Online 3, with each of those titles offering a distinct vision of what the games can be, while also maintaining the nostalgic feeling for older players.

ree

Ragnarok Abyss

ree

Introduced by Eric Kim, VP of Shanghai Talen Network, Ragnarok Abyss is an action-adventure MMORPG and Gravity’s first open-world Ragnarok experience tailored for the Southeast Asian market. The game is set to support cross-platform play across Android, iOS, and PC and the title will build upon the classic Ragnarok formula while introducing modern systems and large-scale content.

ree

Players will be able to get a feeling of nostalgia while playing the game as it features familiar gameplay, though it is set to be enhanced with all-new skills, new game modes such as the PvE encounters as well as the 3D MVP boss battles.

In addition, the PvP experience is also being expanded, with modes ranging from 1v1 and 3v3 at launch, and ambitious plans for 30v30 and 50v50 battles in the future. And after receiving positive feedback during the Southeast Asian Closed Beta Test, Ragnarok Abyss is sure to be a major hit when the game fully releases.

Ragnarok Midgard Senki

The next game that was featured was Ragnarok Midgard Senki, which was presented by Fengyin, CEO of Gameale. The game is aimed at more casual players, as the game features a cute, hand-drawn 2D art style while preserving the iconic combat essence of classic Ragnarok Online.

ree

Aside from just the familiar mechanics of the game, the title is also set to introduce new PvP and PvE competitive modes, alongside systems such as resource gathering, character upgrades, and pet-catching, allowing players to recruit companions to assist them in battle. Importantly.

ree

Fengyin emphasized that Midgard Senki is built around a non-pay-to-win philosophy, with all items obtainable through in-game marketplaces and auctions.

ree

Ragnarok The New World

ree

The third game being featured, Ragnarok The New World, was presented by He Yang, Senior Vice President of 37 Interactive Entertainment, Ragnarok The New World focuses on reducing player burden while delivering a refined and expansive experience. One of its standout features is a seamless 2km x 2km open map, a first for a mobile Ragnarok title.

ree

The game also recreates the legendary 193 ASPD, enabling players to unleash up to seven attacks per second, while delivering a robust Guild vs Guild (GvG) system inspired by the classic PC siege battles.

With modes such as Guild League and full DIY character customisation, players are given both competitive depth and personal expression. The introduction of a brand-new seventh class, the Gunslinger, further adds to the game’s appeal.

ree

Ragnarok Online 3

ree

Closing off with the final game announcement on the night was Ragnarok Online 3, presented by Steven Shi, CEO of JoyMaker. As a direct successor to the original Ragnarok Online, the game embraces its roots with chibi-style 3D characters, familiar environments, and classic visual elements, while also modernising its systems for today’s players.

ree

A major innovation lies in its seasonal gameplay system, designed to combat late-game stat inflation and steep difficulty curves common in traditional MMORPGs. This approach ensures a fair and enjoyable experience for both veterans and newcomers. The game also introduces an ambitious Siege mode, featuring a massive 1500 x 1500 map and supporting up to 1,500 players in real-time battles, culminating in large-scale guild clashes for control of the capital.

ree

Once the press conference was over and done with, everyone gathered around the hall for another major event that took place later that night, the Drawings of the teams for the upcoming four tournaments that will be held at Ragnarok Festa 2025.

ree

The gathering not only built excitement among the teams and spectators, but also officially set the stage for the intense competition awaiting them at Ragnarok Festa 2025.

Ragnarok Festa 2025: The Festivities Begin!

And it wasn’t just the booths or interactive games which made Ragnarok Festa 2025 come to live; it was the fans. Many attendees arrived in elaborate cosplay, proudly showcasing their favourite characters and designs from across the franchise. Their enthusiasm transformed the venue into a living celebration of Ragnarok’s world, which is sure to create countless memorable moments.

ree

Then it was finally time for the opening ceremony to begin, with a grand musical performance starting things off, featuring iconic Ragnarok tracks that immediately resonated with long-time fans. Following this, Yoshinori Kitamura took the stage to thank the community and reaffirm Gravity’s dedication to expanding the Ragnarok universe in the years to come.

ree

Once the festival officially began, everyone’s attention immediately turned to the four major tournaments that were being hosted during the event simultaneously, those competitions were Ragnarok Stars (ROS), Ragnarok Online Classic Championship (ROCC), The Ragnarok Championship (TRC), and the Ragnarok Landverse Championship (RLC). Teams from across Asia battled fiercely, showcasing strategy, skill, and teamwork.

ree

Though the fun activities weren’t just limited to the main hall, as there were many booths that were also prepared just outside the hall, all of which were sponsors for the event, one of which was OneOne, the main sponsor of Ragnarok Festa 2025. This breath of fresh air, not only helped to keep fans entertained throughout the day, it also helped to add more depth to the festival experience.

ree

As the day wore on and energy levels began to dip, the crowd was reignited by a live performance from popular Thai pop group PiXXie. Their energetic songs and choreography helped to bring renewed excitement to the venue, creating joyful moments that perfectly bridged the festival’s competitive and celebratory sides.

ree

Once the performance was concluded, it was time for the action to return as the four tournaments that had been going on since the early mornings were finally reaching its conclusion. After hours of battling it out, the finals of each event played out, with every team battling for the main glory.

ree

The first tournament to conclude on the night was Ragnarok Stars (ROS), and the tournament featured a USD 65,000 prize pool, with Morning Stars emerging victorious in the end after a hard-fought final against RELENTLESS. Coming in third on the night was Enthusiasm Gallant.
