PUBG Mobile Announces Mountain Dew Partnership and Dew Challenge

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground Mobile has announced a partnership with Mountain Dew.

Buying certain Mountain Dew products will allow fans to unlock rewards and in-game prizes, although what those items will be was not specified. In addition, Mountain Dew will be the official beverage sponsor of several tournaments including the PUBG MOBILE Pro League Americas, PUBG MOBILE World League, and PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in 2020.

PepsiCo Beverage Marketing Lead Jennifer Lee also said that Mountain Dew will be “introducing the PUBG Mobile Dew Challenge 2020 (which ends on January 30, 2021) in Malaysia and Singapore’s Largest Amateur PUBG Mobile Championship to showcase these talents who will compete for their share of RM 200,000 in prize pool, with RM100,000 for the champions, and RM50,000 and RM29,000 for the second and third placing respectively”.

For the Dew Challenge, fans can buy a 400ml Mountain Dew bottle with a special PUBG Mobile label and enter the code beneath the cap on the Dew Challenge website, before waiting to receive an invite for their squad. Aside from the cash prizes mentioned above, the champions will get the chance to train with esports team Geek Fam.

“Mountain Dew has been a part of the esports journey for many years and we are excited for this partnership with PUBG MOBILE Esports Program for its 2020 PUBG MOBILE Pro League South Asia,” said Pepsico APAC Senior Marketing Director Salman Butt. It has always been great to see the impeccable talents in this gaming community and we look forward to harnessing the passion within this ever-growing ecosystem.”

This isn’t the first time that the battle royale game and Mountain Dew have teamed up. In September, the two had a partnership that saw Mountain Dew Fuel Stations placed for a limited time while in May, it was announced that Mountain Dew would be the “platinum sponsor” of the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South Asia.
