POCO F9 Series Arrives in Malaysia with Up to 185FPS Gaming, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 200MP Cameras

POCO has officially launched the new POCO F9 Series in Malaysia, introducing the POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro as its latest push into the premium flagship smartphone segment.

This generation puts a particularly strong emphasis on gaming performance, with POCO introducing a dual-chip architecture capable of delivering gaming at up to 185FPS, alongside major upgrades to the display, camera system, battery, charging and audio.

POCO is also expanding its collaboration with Bose, with both F9 Series devices featuring audio experiences enhanced through Sound by Bose technology.

Flagship Performance with Up to 185FPS Gaming

At the top of the lineup, the POCO F9 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, recording an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108 under POCO's internal testing.

For the first time in the F Series, both the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro also feature a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset, which handles visual processing alongside the main processor.

The setup enables Smart frame rate of up to 185FPS on supported games, while Smart frame rate and AI Super Resolution can also operate simultaneously to improve both visual smoothness and image detail.

POCO says more than 20 titles support 185FPS gaming natively, while another five titles can reach up to 185FPS with Smart frame rate.

The series also comes equipped with WildBoost Engine, alongside Game Color Enhancement and gaming-oriented touch controls including a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, up to 480Hz 10-point touch sampling rate, and up to 200Hz gyro sampling rate under supported conditions.

Keeping everything under control is POCO's 3D IceLoop cooling system, designed to maintain stable performance during longer and more demanding gaming sessions.

The POCO F9 Ultra is also available with up to 1TB of storage.

185Hz HyperRGB AMOLED Displays

Both models feature 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED displays, with the F9 Ultra offering a larger approximately 6.9-inch display, while the F9 Pro opts for a more compact 6.59-inch panel.

POCO HyperRGB uses a full RGB subpixel structure to provide crisp visuals comparable to a 2K display while consuming less power.

The F9 Series also debuts POCO's new M11 luminescent material, supporting peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits across multiple scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content under POCO's specified test conditions.

For eye comfort, the series introduces Xiaomi Vision Care, which has received TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification.

Design-wise, the F9 Ultra incorporates a dynamic light on its rear panel that can provide personalised effects for notifications, calls, gaming and music.

Meanwhile, the Aurora Green POCO F9 Pro features POCO's first full-panel luminous back design, allowing the rear panel to glow after exposure to suitable light. Users can even create luminous patterns using a compatible blue-violet laser pointer, which is sold separately.

Sound by Bose, Including a Dedicated Gaming Audio Mode

POCO has also placed considerable attention on smartphone audio this generation.

The F9 Ultra combines dual symmetrical 1115D master-grade stereo speakers with an independent 1620 subwoofer, creating what POCO describes as a true 2.1-channel mobile audio experience.

The F9 Pro instead uses dual symmetrical 1115F super-linear stereo speakers together with a sealed cavity design.

Both models benefit from Sound by Bose tuning and provide two audio profiles: Dynamic, designed for a fuller bass presentation, and Balanced, which focuses more on balanced reproduction and vocal clarity.

A new Game audio mode is also coming to supported games via OTA. The mode enhances footsteps for clearer directional awareness while retaining other audio layers such as gunfire, voices and environmental effects.

Up to 8,050mAh Battery with 100W Charging

Battery capacity is another major upgrade for the F9 Series.

The POCO F9 Ultra packs an 8,050mAh battery, the largest battery ever used in a POCO F Series smartphone. It incorporates 16% silicon-carbon content, with POCO claiming up to two days of battery life under its simulated daily-use testing.

The more compact POCO F9 Pro comes with a 6,330mAh battery.

Both models support 100W wired HyperCharge as well as 50W wireless HyperCharge.

They can also function as portable charging sources thanks to support for up to 27W wired reverse charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging with compatible devices.

POCO's First 200MP Camera System

Photography receives a sizeable upgrade too, with the F9 Series introducing POCO's first 200MP ultra-clear main camera system, complete with optical image stabilisation.

A dedicated 200MP mode provides additional detail for cropping, reframing and editing, while both phones also feature a 32MP front camera.

The F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto camera, supporting 10x lossless zoom and up to 20x AI Ultra Zoom.

The F9 Pro, meanwhile, comes with a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto camera that can focus from as close as 10cm, allowing it to handle both telephoto shots and close-up macro photography.

For video creators, both devices support Live cinematography with 4K Ultra HD capture, automated focal transitions and fluid lens switching.

The POCO F9 Series is now available in Malaysia, with promotional pricing running from 1 September to 16 September 2026 through mi.com and POCO's official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
