Oppo has confirmed that the upcoming ColorOS 12 will be officially launched on 16 September in China.

The new operating system is codenamed "Da Vinci" as the artist Leonardo Da Vinci is an inspiration to the software in art, technology, and science. Nothing much is known about it for now but it is said to be based on the latest Android 12.

Previously, Digital Chart Station leaked a promotional photo, which showcases a smartphone, a tablet, and a smartwatch, hinting that the upcoming ColorOS 12 will be available in the three devices types. It is also possible that the new software will include Oppo's announced tablet.
In terms of features, the ColorOS 12 could sync a laptop and a smartphone together via the "Cross-Screen Interconnection", which is similar to HUAWEI's Multi-Screen Collaboration. Additionally, it may have new features that function similarly to other operating systems like Xiaomi's MIUI and OnePlus' HydrogenOS. (Thanks, GizmoChina.)
