Today, OnePlus confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be using MediaTek’s flagship chipset, called the “Dimensity 1200-AI”. OnePlus said that they partnered up with MediaTek to enhance the AI based features of the new device.
Different from the standard Dimensity 1200, the new chipset will have advancement features including “AI-assisted photography for superior imaging, display enhancements for a top-ranking user experience, and better response times for faster and smoother gaming, and much more.”
The AI Photo Enhancement mode will recognize up to 22 different photography scenarios and automatically apply the best settings for maximum quality, including optimal settings for night time and low-light images. Meanwhile, the AI Video Enhancement feature will enable live HDR effects in real-time during recording. The custom chipset supports the DOL-HDR (Digital Overlap High Dynamic Range) technology, which can capture images with high colour range and accuracy.
The new device will also support better display with AI with higher dynamic range of colour and HD video resolution. Besides that, the Smart Ambient Display uses AI for automatic brightness control, taking into account the user’s surroundings as well as the displayed content.
The new OnePlus Nord 2 5G will have a high refresh rate, good cooling system, and consumes less power, making it a device suitable for gamers.
