Nintendo is Shutting Down Dr. Mario World for Mobile on 1 November

Nintendo has just announced that it will shut down the service of Dr. Mario World, a mobile version of the successful 1990 Dr. Mario, on 1 November this year. Alongside the shutdown news, sales of “diamonds” will also no longer be available for purchase starting tomorrow.

Dr. Mario World was developed by Nintendo along with Line Corporation and NHN Entertainment in July 2019. It is a Tetris-like game where players need to remove viruses by matching their colors with that of a pill.

Fortunately for passionate fans, Nintendo is planning to save the game’s vestige on a webpage called Dr. Mario World Memories which will allow them to look back at their game history after the service ends.
