New Tsurumi Island, Thoma, and More: Genshin Impact Version 2.2 Announced

miHoYo has announced that the Genshin Impact version 2.2 update "Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog" will be arriving on 13 October, introducing the last of the 6 major islands in Inazuma as well as a series of new challenges and mini-games. Furthermore, Thoma will be a playable character when the update arrives. Aloy from Horizon Dawn will also be available to collect for free.

In version 2.2, the last major island in Inazuma, Tsurumi Island will be open, "shrouded in dense fog, and players may easily get lost and encounter unprecedented challenges while exploring this area". Players will be facing the Rifthounds and the Rifthound Whelps on the island.

There will be a "Shadow of the Ancients" event, where players have to accomplish investigation commissions across Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma to defeat an "Anomalous Model Ruin Grade" that can draw power from an unknown source of energy to regenerate itself.

Thoma, who was introduced during the version 2.0 update, will be playable as a 4-star playable character. He holds a Pyro Vision and wields a polearm as his weapon. The update will also bring Hangout Events for both Thoma and Sayu. Thoma can be recruited during the second Event Wish.

There will also be two other character reruns with Tartaglia featured in the first Event Wish while Hu Tao can be drawn in the second Event Wish.

Additionally, there will be a series of season events: "Labyrinth Warriors" and "Tuned to the World's Sounds". In the "Labyrinth Warriors" event, players will venture into a mystic domain in Inazuma with "Childe" Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, and Xinyan. Players will be aided by a strange paper figure called "Shiki Taishou" in the domain. In the "Tuned to the World's Sounds" event, players will experience a rhythm game and play different styles of music with Ningguang, Zhongli, Keqing, Xiao, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Kamisato Ayaka, and the Raiden Shogun.

With the new version update, DualSense controller support will be available on Genshin Impact's PC for the first time. There will also be more features added into the Serenity Teapot, including a new Inazuma-themed realm layout "Silken Courtyard," more Inazuma-style Furnishing Blueprints, a new furnishing type, Floating Platform, and flowers that can be used as furnishings from the limited-time "Dreams of Bloom" event.
