New Motorola Edge S Flagship Phone Launches in China

Motorola has launched the Motorola Edge S flagship smartphone in China. The phone is the first to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 5G, which was announced on January 19.


As reported by XDA Developers, the Motorola Edge S has a 6.7-inch 2520×1080 LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside is a 5,000mAh battery which is recharged with a 20W wired charger, with no fast charging or wireless charging support. The phone can be equipped with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The rear of the phone has a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, and 2MP depth sensor. The front has two hole-punch cameras, a 16MP camera and an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera.


Other features of the Motorola Edge S include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner on the side, and Android 11 with Desktop Mode support. Motorola is also selling a dock for connecting the phone to an external display.

The phone has a starting price of CNY1999 (~RM1,250.24). International release date details are currently unknown, although leaker Evan Blass says that the phone will be called the Moto G100 outside of China.
