According to 9to5Mac, Netflix is rolling out Spatial Audio support to its iOS app. A spokesperson from Netflix confirmed that the company has started rolling out the support for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 users.
Users will be able to access the feature in the Control Center of their iOS device. According to Apple, Spatial Audio uses directional audio filters to "play sounds virtually anywhere in space, creating an immersive sound experience". The upcoming iOS 15 doesn't only have the feature but upgrades it with a new Spatialize Stereo option which stimulates the Spatial Audio experience for non-Dolby Atmos content.
To enjoy the Spatial Audio experience, users will need a pair of AirPods Pro earbuds or AirPods Max headphones. The Spatial Audio feature might take some time to be fully released to all users as the company said "this will be a slow rollout".
