Mixer Hands Out US$100 to Streaming Partners to Help During COVID-19 Pandemic

Didn't qualify for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional? Here's your second chance at receiving a handout during the coronavirus pandemic: Mixer is now giving US$100 to every partnered streamer to help them through any financial hardships caused by the current situation.

Any streamer can apply for Mixer partnership, as long as they meet certain viewership and behaviour requirements. While some have criticised the relatively small amount Mixer offers - it's owned by freakin' Microsoft - it's still free money, and converts to a generous ~RM438 in our weakened currency.

We're not sure how many Malaysians would benefit from this though, as most major local streamers are partnered with Facebook, and those who target a global audience usually adopt Twitch as their main platform.

In any case, it would be interesting to see if Facebook or Twitch steps up to offer their partners any sort of financial aid, even if it's just to show they aren't slacking in terms of taking care of their partners - although they undeniably have a larger amount of partners than Mixer due to being more established in the streaming scene.
