MIMOS, Maxis, and HUAWEI Malaysia have partnered up to build a 5G and AI Innovation Hub at the MIMOS campus to boost accelerate industrial use cases enabled by 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The hub will be a co-creation testbed for research and development (R&D) and an incubator for innovative solutions.
The partnership sees MIMOS as the host and innovation driver where the agency will offer
R&D advisory, and its national-level facilities for testbed operation, demonstration, and training. MIMOS will also oversee the creation of solutions that will help industries in achieving continuous growth.
As for Maxis, the company will be powering up the hub with its networking and connectivity services and will be lending its expertise for new innovations to be nurtured and accelerated.
Meanwhile, HUAWEI Malaysia will tap on its extensive experience in operating innovation labs, advice on global best practices, facilitate technology knowledge transfers to local ecosystem partners, and bring these innovations to the global market.
The hub will also feature several showcases including:
Smart Manufacturing: 5G enablement of sensors and connected devices within a factory as well as throughout the entire value chain.
Data Mining for Customer Service: Using large sets of data to create more meaningful outcomes for user experience such as more personalized content
Durian Sense: Implementation of IoT sensors and big data analytics for smart agriculture.
