A speedrun of the game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was removed from Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) after discovering to be pre-recorded.
Speedrunner Mekarazium, who had set a new world record for the Blade Wolf DLC during the event admitted that he had played a pre-recorded video, instead of playing in real-time.
Mekazarium had contacted the staff and said he had planned this for over a month. This was possible because he was playing remotely and not physically present at the event.
GDQ announced that Mekazarium would not be permitted to run for the event in the future.
