MediaTek Is Planning to Launch a 6nm G-Series Chipset

MediaTek is gearing up to launch a new 6nm G-series chipset later this year to succeed the 12nm Helio G96, trusted sources told GSMArena.

The upcoming G-series processor doesn't have an official marketing name yet and is currently to as "Next-G". According to the outlet, the Next-G will employ the same CPU configuration as the Helio G96, which means we're looking at two ARM Cortex-A76 cores running at more than 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores ticking at 2.0 GHz. It will also have the same Mali G57 MC2 GPU.

Like the Helio G96, it is said to support 108MP cameras with 2K video recording at 30fps and FullHD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. 5G connectivity will still be absent from the processor.

It looks like the Next-G won't have many upgrades over the Helio G96 except for improved power efficiency due to its 6nm architecture.
