LG Announces 120 Hz Dolby Vision Support for Gaming on its OLED TVs

LG has announced the rollout of its OLED TV that features Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120 Hz for the best big-screen gaming experience.

The 03.15.27 firmware version enables LG’s C1 and G1 series OLED TVs to be the first to support the feature. LG revealed that its 2021 TV lineup including the OLED Z1 series, QNED Mini LED QNED99 series, and NanoCell NANO99 series are tested for the feature and will receive updates within this month. The company added, “Additional 2021 and 2020 TV models are also being tested for Dolby Vision gaming at either 60 Hz or 120 Hz.”

The firmware also introduces the Game Dashboard, a floating onscreen menu that allows users to optimize settings. Users can switch between genres (Standard, FPS, RPG, and RTS) via the Game Optimizer. Furthermore, users will be able to see the status of different modes like black stabilizer, low latency, and variable refresh rate.
