Lenovo Announces ThinkBooks, Legion Laptops, and More at CES 2021

Lenovo announced a range of new products at a CES 2021, ranging from ThinkPads and ThinkBooks to Legion laptops and augmented glasses. The following are 17 products that were highlighted by Lenovo, with the remaining products described more briefly after the main list.


Key features: The ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is an Intel Evo vPro platform features an ultralight chassis, 360-degree hinge, and a titanium cover. It also has ThinkShield for security, WiFi 6 and optional 5G connectivity, military-grade durability, Dolby Vision.


Key specs: Up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7 vPro, 13.5" 2K (2256 x 1504) IPS, Touchscreen with Dolby Vision™ (201 PPI, 450 nits, 100% sRGB), up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM, up to a 1TB PCIe SSD, Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, and a 2K display.

Key features: The ThinkPad X12 Detachable features Modern Standby, always-connected 4G WWAN, WiFi 6 connectivity, Corning Gorilla Glass, and background noise cancellation via dual-array mics and the Dolby Premium app. It also has ThinkShield, discrete Trusted Platform Module, and military-grade durability. A folio keyboard is available as an option.


Key specs: Up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 vPro processor, 16GB LPDDR4x memory, up to a 1TB NVMe SSD storage, Intel Iris Xe graphics, FHD+ (1920 x 1280) anti-reflective and anti-smudge panel with 400 nits, 5MP infrared front camera and 8MP rear camera. There is USB 4 Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connectivity.

ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 with e-ink display and ThinkBook 13x (13” Intel)

Key features: The ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 features an E-ink display on the cover for note-taking, email receiving, and other functions without having to open the lid. Meanwhile, the ThinkBook 13x offers Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. Both have optional wireless charging.

ThinkBook 14p Gen 2 (14”) and ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 (16”)

Key features: Both laptops feature “intelligent cooling”, along with “thin and light construction” and “vivid displays”.


Key specs: Up to AMD Ryzen 9 5000 H-Series mobile processors, optional NVIDIA RTX discrete graphics (ThinkBook 16p).

Key Features: The slim aluminium-alloy cased Lenovo Tab P11 tablet offers an 11” 2K (2000 x 1200) TDDI IPS touchscreen with 400 nits, 85% screen-to-display ratio, and 70% NTSC. It also features Dolby Atmos, Face Unlock, integrated background blur for the front camera,and TÜV Rheinland certification. Lenovo says that the tablet can operate for 15 hours on a single charge.


For usage by children, it offers an independent kids’ account and Google Kids Space. The tablet comes with 3 months of Amazon Music Unlimited Free as well. Additionally, an optional ultrathin keyboard and an optional Lenovo Precision Pen 2 with 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection, and 200 hours of usage on a single charge, are available.

Lenovo Legion 7 (16" AMD)

Key features: The Lenovo Legion 7 has an aerospace-grade aluminum Storm Grey body, as well as AI-supported Nahimic 3D audio, TrueStrike keyboard, and Coldfront 3.0 thermals.


Key specs: AMD Ryzen 5000 H-Series mobile processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU.

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro

Key features: The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro features a new Legion Coldfront 3.0 thermal system with AI support, the “world's first 16" QHD display”, Nahimic 3D audio, and a Legion TrueStrike keyboard that boasts “hair-trigger inputs”.


Key specs: Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs.

Lenovo L24i-30

Key features: The 7.1mm-thinLenovo L24i-30 monitor offers a borderless FHD IPS display. It also has TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort and monitor and desktop performance-optimizing Lenovo Artery.

Lenovo L27e-30


Key features: The Lenovo L27e-30 monitor offers a 27″ FHD IPS display and, like the L24i-30, a thickness of 7.1mm. It has TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort and Lenovo Artery as well.

Key features: A 1.13kg, 16:10 Intel Evo platform and always-connected device, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon offers an ultrathin and ultralight chassis. It has Discrete Trusted Platform Module 2.0, ThinkShield, and an optional IR camera and PrivacyGuard display panel for security. It has military-grade durability. For cooling, it has a one-bar hinge, dual fan, and rear venting.


The laptop also features a Dolby Atmos Speaker System, Dolby Voice, and four 360-degree far-field mics. It has WiFi 6 connectivity and optional 4G / 5G WWAN, depending on region.


Key specs: Up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7 vPro with integrated Intel Iris Xe, up to 32GB LPDDR4x, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD. Ports include two USB 4 Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports.


Four screen options are available, with the highest being a 14" UHD+ (3840 x 2400) IPS low-power display, with HDR400 with Dolby Vision DCI P3 100%, 500 nits, and TÜV Rheinland certification.

Key features: A 16:10 Intel Evo platform, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga comes with a 360-degree hinge and the ability to switch between laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes. There are dual-fans and rear venting for cooling, while for security it has ThinkShield, Discrete Trusted Platform Module 2.0, and optional human-presence detection. A PrivacyGuard display panel is also available.


Other features include a Dolby Atmos Speaker System, WiFi 6connectivity, and optional 4G / 5G WWAN.


Key specs: Up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7 vPro with integrated Intel® Iris Xe, Up to 32GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD. Ports include two USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a HDMI 2.0 port, and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one of which is always on. A Nano SIM slot is available as an option.

Four screen options are available, the highest being a 14" UHD+ 4K (3840 x 2400) IPS display, with HDR400 with Dolby Vision, 500 nits, 90% DCI P3 Color Gamut, and TÜV Rheinland-certification.

Key Features: The Light Silver Lenovo IdeaPad 5Gweighs less than 1.22kg and is less than 15.2mm thin. It has a four-sided narrow bezel FHD display with 100% sRGB, two 2W Dolby Audio speakers, an instant-on feature, and an always-on 3.2 port as well. Other features include a 720p infrared camera and dual array mics.


Key specs: Qualcomm Snapdragon SC8180XP, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 512GB PCIe SSD, and integrated Adreno 680 graphics. It also has FHD IPS with antiglare, 300 nits, and 100% sRGB, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and a sim card reader.

Key Features: A pair of augmented reality glasses, the ThinkReality A3 has two versions: a PC Edition that's tethered to a PC for virtual monitors, and an Industrial Edition connected to a flagship Motorola phone for "smart industrial work".


The virtual monitor presented by the former can be placed anywhere and tilted and swiveled. It offers single, triple, and curved widescreen monitor formats, as well as a switch/lock screen.


The glasses can also be used to view 3D schematics and guided workflows, and more.

LAVIE MINI

Key Features:The LAVIE MINI is described as an ultraportable pocket-sized Windows PC with an 8” WUXGA touch display. An optional docking station and optional gaming controller are available.

Legion Slim 7 and Legion 5

The Legion Slim 7 is a 15.6” laptop with a 100% aluminium thin and light chassis and either a 144Hz FHD or 4K Dolby Vision HDR display.


Meanwhile, the Legion 5 has 15” and 17” variants, both with AI-enhanced Legion Coldfront 3.0 thermals, Q-Control, new Nahimic 3D audio, and the Legion TrueStrike keyboard with soft-landing switches. The Legion 5 is armed with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs.


Lenovo Legion H600 Wireless Gaming Headset & S600 Gaming Station

The Legion H600 offers a 2.4GHz lossless receiver, “tournament-grade sound”, wired and magnetic charging, and a 3.5mm jack. Another feature is its less than 35ms latency via 50mm audio drivers.


It can be hung on the stand of the Legion S600 to be charged wirelessly. The cable-free S600 features “always-on charging, 2.4GHz WiFi connectivity, next-gen wireless Qi charging, and wired USB-A charging”.

The lightweight and “breathable” Legion H200 features 50mm audio drivers, a unidirectional noise-cancelling microphone, earcup-situated volume control, and the flip-to-mute capability.


ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock and ThinkPad Universal USB-C Smart Dock

You can probably guess what they do from their respective names. Both Smart Docks feature Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Computing solution and are coming soon. The ThinkPad Universal USB-C Smart Dock is stated to be arriving in February 2021.



Yoga AIO 7 (27" AMD)

A smart desktop with the “world’s first 27” 4K display” with 99% Adobe RGB color gamut and DCI-P3 99% color space. It can connect via USB-C to laptops for battery-charging, as well as to allow the laptop to utilize its keyboard, mouse, display, and speakers. The AIO can also share storage with the connected laptop, and as a rotatable screen that can be used to watch mobile device content with wireless casting.



IdeaPad 5i Pro Gen 6 (14" & 16" Intel)

Both models of the IdeaPad 5i Pro Gen 6 are equipped with 11th Gen Intel Core processors and up to QHD displays, Dolby Atmos, and the TrueStrike keyboard.
