Intel has announced a new brand for its upcoming high-performance graphics products - the Intel Arc - including hardware, software, and services. The company will be launching the first generation of a new graphics card in the first quarter of 2022 under the code name, Alchemist.
Formerly known as the Intel DG2, Alchemist is based on the Intel Xe HPG microarchitecture that will deliver scalability and computer efficiency with enhanced graphics features. "Alchemist, the first generation of Intel Arc products, will feature hardware-based ray tracing and artificial intelligence-driven super sampling, and offer full support for DirectX 12 Ultimate," read the press release.
The new brand of Intel's upcoming graphics cards will be targeted for gamers and content creators. Intel also revealed several code names for future generations under Intel Arc, including Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid.
