Infinix Powers Gaming Momentum, Lifting Transsion into Malaysia’s Top 5

ree

Transsion Holdings has entered Malaysia’s top five smartphone brands for the first time in Q2 2025, capturing a 12% market share, according to Canalys. This milestone is largely driven by Infinix’s strong growth in the local market, particularly among young, performance-focused users. Supported by Malaysia’s expanding mobile gaming and esports scene, the success of Infinix’s GT series has solidified the brand’s reputation for delivering powerful gaming performance at affordable prices.

According to Tommy Xiong, Country Manager of Infinix Malaysia, Malaysia’s growing esports ecosystem continues to drive the expansion of its mobile gaming market, with Infinix playing a key role through its GT 30 Pro and GT 30 smartphones. By delivering flagship-level gaming performance at accessible prices, Infinix is empowering more gamers across the country. This approach has been a major factor behind the brand’s strong momentum in 2025, supported by ongoing investments in innovation and local partnerships.

Regional Momentum Underscores Infinix’s Rising Influence

According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Infinix’s growth continued to accelerate across Southeast Asia in Q2 2025, with shipments rising 27.8% quarter-on-quarter — the fastest in the region. The Philippines led with 55% year-on-year growth, followed by Indonesia with a 14.7% market share and a 35.1% quarterly increase. Supported by strong performances in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, Infinix’s presence across the region continues to expand rapidly.

Beyond Southeast Asia, Infinix also strengthened its position in South Asia, maintaining the No.1 spot in Pakistan for the 12th straight quarter and reaching second place in Bangladesh for the first time. Globally, the brand shipped 9.6 million units in Q2 2025 — an 11.7% quarterly increase — raising its market share from 2.8% to 3.2%.

Malaysia’s Booming Esports Scene Fuels Smartphone Demand

Infinix’s growing success in Malaysia is closely linked to the nation’s booming esports and mobile gaming scene, now valued at over USD 1 billion with more than 14 million active gamers. Popular titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and major events such as Kuala Lumpur’s hosting of the MLBB M6 World Championship have cemented Malaysia’s place in the global esports arena, further supported by a RM20 million government investment to boost nationwide esports development.

Capitalising on this momentum, Infinix has positioned its GT series to meet the demand for affordable, high-performance gaming smartphones. The Infinix GT 30 Pro, launched in May, delivers esports-level performance with up to 120 FPS on MLBB, a high refresh rate display, advanced cooling, and flagship-grade power. This was followed by the September debut of the GT 30, which brings premium gaming features — including capacitive shoulder triggers — to a broader audience, reinforcing Infinix’s mission to make competitive gaming more accessible to Malaysians.

High-Performance Gaming Made Affordable with Infinix GT 30

Priced at RM1,099, the GT 30 packs a 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G chipset, and 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber Cooling for smooth, sustained performance. Beyond gaming, it integrates over 25 AI-powered tools for learning, creativity, and productivity. Available in Cyber Blue, Pulse Green, and Shadow Ash with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM (expandable to 16GB), the GT 30 has been on sale nationwide since 11 September 2025 through Infinix Official Stores online and authorised dealers.
