Many iPhone users were frustrated when Apple decided not to include chargers in the box but it seems that Google will be following Apple as the company confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will not include a charger, according to The Verge. Google claims there's just no need as most people already have USB-C chargers.
This means the Pixel 5a will be the last Google smartphone to come with a charging brick in its box. While Apple has ditched the charger for all its devices, another big company Samsung also follows the trend but only for its flagship devices.
The trend could be the companies' decision could be an eco-friendly move but it could also be a cost-cutting move. Either way, consumers are now left with choices from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, HUAWEI, and more if they insist on wanting a smartphone with a free in-box charger. Otherwise, they will have to buy a separate charger to top up their devices.
