Originally a PlayStation-exclusive game, God of War arrived on PC on 15 January and it immediately became Sony's biggest launch on Steam with an all-time peak of 73,529 players, as reported by SteamDB.
Before God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn took the lead, recording 56,577 players followed by Days Gone with 27,450 players. Barlog and Santa Monica Studio lead UX designer Mila Pavlin shared that bringing God of War to PC allows them to experiment with the increased power of PC and make the game more accessible to all types of players.
In addition to the figure above, God of War was also the best-selling title for the week ending on 16 January, taking down Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise, Ready or Not, Elden Ring, and more.
