Genshin Impact Is Now Out

Free-to-play online action-RPG Genshin Impact is now out on PS4, iOS, Android, and PC. The game was previously made available for preload yesterday on 27 September.

Made by Honkai Impact’s miHoYo, the game features an open world with puzzles and hack-and-slash combat. Players can pick from over 20 characters to form an AI party and will also have the option to partner up with up to three other players, even those from other platforms thanks to crossplay.

The visuals are cartoony in a Breath of the Wild way, and the game also drew some accusations that it was a clone of Nintendo’s open world hit.

The PS4 launch trailer’s description describes the game as:

“In the distant continent of Teyvat, the seven elements — Anemo, Pyro, Electro, Cryo, Dendro, and Geo — converge. Those chosen by the gods are granted Visions, with which they can control the elements in nature. You, a mysterious traveler, are about to embark on epic adventures in this free world. You will master the various elements throughout your journey, during which amazing friends with diverse abilities will join you along the way. Together, you will fight mighty enemies, find your lost kin, and unravel the riddles of the world of Genshin Impact.”

Genshin Impact was also announced for Switch, but the release date for that platform currently remains unknown. #genshinimpact #mihoyo
