Genshin Impact 1.5 Update: New Characters, World Bosses, Housing System and More

miHoYo has just concluded Genshin Impact's Version 1.5 Special Program, which confirmed many leaks and fan theories of the upcoming patch, including new characters Eula and Yanfei.

Apart from that, we've also caught a glimpse of upcoming events as well as our first look at the upcoming region, Inazuma.

New and Returning Characters

Geo Daddy- *ahem* I mean Geo polearm-wielding Archon Zhongli will be making a comeback, allowing those who skipped his character banner the first time to add him to their roster. Widely regarded as a top-tier support and the best shielder in the game, Zhongli will be a vital addition to most team compositions. We will also be getting a continuation of his story quest.

Eula, the "Spindraft Knight and Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company", will be making her debut alongside Yanfei, a half-human, half-illuminated-beast. As teased in some widespread leaks, the former is indeed a 5-star Cryo claymore user, while the latter is a 4-star Pyro catalyst user.

New Bosses

Azhdaha, the "Lord of Vishaps", is the newest addition to the Trounce Domain opponent roster. According to the press release, he boasts "fierce attacks, use of multiple elements, and ability to alter the battlefield terrain." As a weekly boss, it is presumed that his reward collection cost will be 60 resin, while his exact drops are still unknown.

Meanwhile, our favourite Elemental Cube family has gained a new member with the addition of the Cryo Hypostasis. It will be located in Dragonspine, and like its kin, will feature a unique pattern of attack and drops precious resources when defeated.

New Artifact Sets

Two new artifact sets have been confirmed, with each set appearing to correspond with each of Version 1.5's 5-star character banners - Zhongli and Eula.

The first set, "Tenacity of the Millelith", increases HP% and buffs ATK and Shield Strength whenever the wielder's Elemental Skill hits an opponent. Meanwhile, "Pale Flame" buffs Physical DMG and provides a stackable ATK boost when an Elemental Skill hits an opponent.

Housing System

The highly anticipated housing system has finally arrived in the form of the Serenitea Pot, which hearkens back to the Liyue Archon Quest which had us adventuring in a whole new realm within Madame Ping's teapot.

In a pleasant turn of events, it seems that we will gain an entire gated enclave instead of just a single building with multiple rooms. The brief preview within the trailer indicated that we will be able to choose and place buildings, as well as populate the place with animals of our choice.

New Events and Hangouts

There appears to be a slew of new events heading our way, including a prop-hunt like event called "Windtrace", as well as "Mimi Tomo" which seems to involve"a certain unusual Hilichurl." If they're anything like previous events, we will get the opportunity to earn more Crowns, along with Primogems and other materials.

Meanwhile, Diona appears to be getting her own hangout event, so fans will be able to spend some quality time with the diminutive neko bartender soon.

First Look at Inazuma

We've also been provided the first look at upcoming region Inazuma. Home to the Electro Archon and Raiden Shogun, Baal, Inazuma's architecture appears to be inspired by Japan.

Officially dubbed "Beneath the Light of Jadeite", Genshin Impact's 1.5 update will arrive on 28 April 2021, and will be available for PC, Android, iOS, PS4, and PS5.
