In conjunction with Global Running Day, Garmin has unveiled the new easy-to-use Garmin Forerunner 55 GPS smartwatch. With just a simple press or a button, users can access a wide range of features, including "daily suggested workouts, additional built-in sports applications, detailed running data, and much more."

Key features include built-in GPS, all-day wrist-based heart rate and activity tracking, daily suggested workouts, and Garmin Coach training plans. In addition, the Garmin Forerunner 55 also introduces advanced running features including PacePro, finish time estimator, Cadence, built-in activity profiles and recovery time.
Designed to be worn 24/7, the Garmin Forerunner 55 comes with a wide array of health and wellness features from Garmin Firstbeat Analytics. Included are stress tracking, relaxation reminders, the Body Battery energy monitor, as well as menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking.
As for lifestyle features, it also allows users to receive text messages, view social media updates, and more from their wrists. It will also notify designated emergency contacts should anything inopportune befall you.
In terms of design, it features a large 1.04" display with a 208 x 208 pixel resolution and weighs just 37g. The screen is "sunlight-visible with transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP)" and the battery can last up to two weeks in smartwatch mode, and 20 hours in GPS mode.
