Among many other upcoming titles, this week we're seeing the debut of three new games, including an old-school adventure platformer, SNK's latest addition in The King of Fighters series that uses Unreal Engine 4, and Square Enix's new card-based RPG adventure.
Infernax
Developed by Berzerk Studio, Infernax is basically a love letter with a new take on classic retro adventures titles from the NES/SNES era of gaming in which players will assume the role of a knight who returns to his homeland only to find out that it has been plagued with unholy magic. Uncover the mysteries surrounding the curse and slay monsters to save the land of Upel.
The King of Fighters XV
The King of Fighters XV features the same fighting system for teams of three fighters and the MAX mode system allows fighters to use stronger fighting techniques when energy bars are filled. It also has various online modes, including Ranked Match, Casual Match, Room Match, and Online Training. The Rush button is also back to help new players create combos and special moves more easily.
The King of Fighters XV will debut on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on 17 February.
Voice of Card: The Forsaken Maiden
While The Forsaken Maiden is not a direct sequel to The Isle Dragon Roars, it uses cards for everything from the menu to dialogue and the environment. "Set on a remote chain of islands that have been protected by the Maidens for generations, the turn-based adventure will have players follow the protagonist to save the people of the island as they face the threat of destruction," the official announcement reads.
