This week, we'll be seeing a few interesting and familiar titles, including the zombie apocalypse game set in the same universe as Brad Pitt's 2013 film, the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise, and a racing game based on Netflix series, Fast & Furious Spy Racers.
World War Z
World War Z is a cooperative third-person shooter where four players will fight against massive hordes of zombies in 5 locations: New York, Jerusalem, Tokyo, and Marseille. Players can choose their character from 7 classses, including the Gunslinger (range), Hellraiser (explosives), Fixer (engineer), Medic (healer), Slasher (melee), Exterminator (crowd control), and Dronemaster (offensive/defensive drones).
The game can support up to 1000 enemies on-screen simultaneously and they can climb onto each other to reach players on a higher level. Players also need to complete different missions such as escorting survivors. The game also features 5 multiplayer modes, including the Player vs Player vs Zombie modes, in which two teams of players will fight against each other while the zombies will attack both teams.
World War Z was originally on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2019. The game will make its Switch debut on 2 November.
Call of Duty: Vanguard
The 18th installment of the Call of Duty series allows players to use a more advanced strategic approach in combat like blind firing from behind cover, breaking through destructible environmental elements, or creating new paths to complete objectives by climbing walls.
The multiplayer mode is expected to launch with a total of 20 maps, with 16 featured for core game modes and the other 4 are for a new game mode called "Champion Hill". The main goal of this mode is to survive as long as it takes to be the last man standing. There will also be another new feature, Combat Pacing, allowing players to have more control over the intensity and density of core multiplayer game modes. The cooperative Zombies mode also returns in Vanguard as an expansion of the Dark Aether story and acts as a prologue to Black Ops Cold War's story.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will launch on Battle.Net, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on 5 November.
Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R
Developed by 3D Clouds, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R centers around Tony Toretto going undercover as a street racer with his pals to stop crime organisation SH1FT3R. Assuming the role of Tony or one of his friends, Echo, Cisco, or Layla Gray, players will have to race through five missions in the Spy Tournament mode. Each mission will take place in its own location, including Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and the Sahara desert.
Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R will be released on Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Switch on 5 November.
