This week we'll see two new games inspired by Tim Burton - Jars and Tandem: A Tale of Shadows. To get some early spooky vibes for pre-Halloween, the ghost of a girl in a red dress is waiting in the Corpse Party (2021).
Corpse Party (2021)
"The haunted halls of Heavenly Host Elementary School are waiting for their next victim! Based on the cult classic that started the series in 1996, Corpse Party (2021) has been updated for the next generation of horror fans while retaining its 16-bit charm." the official overview of the game reads.
The remake of the original Corpse Party will come with 16 extra chapters in addition to the 5 main story chapters, expanding the series' lore, characters, and relationships. The extra chapters will expand on the relationship between series favourites: Ayumi and Yoshiki. Additionally, two brand new characters - Miku Shirayume and Ryoka Iwami - will be introduced and are fully voiced in Japanese for the first time in the West.
Corpse Party (2021) will be released on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on 20 October.
Jars
Developed by Mousetrap Games, Jars is a part strategy and part puzzler game with some elements of tower defense added throughout the game. Players must break jars in the cellar to get what's inside, as part of their attack and defense strategies, in order to protect the Sarcophagus. As it's always something different and new, players will never know what's inside each jar so they will have to adapt to the ever-changing levels.
Tandem: A Tale of Shadows
Set in Victorian London, Tandem: A Tale of Shadows puts Emma on a journey to find a missing magician, named Thomas Kane. Emma will be joined by a teddy bear Fenton throughout her adventure. Assuming the role of Emma, players can switch between Emma's top-down view and Fenton's horizontal side-scroller view to escape from the dimensions.
Tandem: A Tale of Shadows will be available on Steam, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 21 October.
