This week, we'll be seeing some upcoming horror titles with one described as the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead and the other is a PS1-style indie horror game. Also, we'll be seeing the release of a Demon Slayer game based on the original manga and its movie.
Back 4 Blood
Developed by the creators of Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood features largely identical gameplay as the former. It is a thrilling cooperative FPS game where players will be at the center of a war against the Ridden, human-turned zombies. In the story campaign, players will need to join hands with 3 other players to survive the challenging missions whereas, in PvP mode, they will be playing in groups of 8.
There will be a new card system in the game which lets players control the elements of each gameplay before they start, including players' health, damage, and stamina. While players can customise their decks, the Game Director can also hinder players' progress with Corruption cards to add extra enemies, fog effects, and increase the size of the enemies horde.
Back 4 Blood will be released on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 12 October.
Chasing Static
"In the dead of night, a fierce storm rages across North Wales. Miles from any town, Chris Selwood seeks refuge in a remote roadside café. Shortly thereafter Chris experiences a horrific sight as he finds the café waitress pinned to the ceiling by something with fierce glowing eyes, he passes out waking up to the dusty old abandoned remains of the café," the game's story description reads.
Inspired by 80s sci-fi horror and contemporary surrealist cinema, Chasing Static features audio-driven gameplay where players need to hunt anomalies with a Frequency Displacement Monitoring Device.
Chasing Static will be available on Steam on 14 October.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles
The Hinokami Chronicles is adapted from the events of the first season of the anime series and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- the Movie: Mugen Train. The game follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado as he joins Demon Slayer Corps and fights against various demons in order to turn his sister, Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human.
Players can join with up to 2 friends in the versus mode, choosing from 18 characters, including Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and more.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles will launch on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 15 October.
